It's indeed a talent on its own. I developed my voicing skills right from my teenage years and I have been able to improve over the years. Don't be surprised if I told you that imitation is part of learning in the art of voicing. This happens more when you have a model you look forward to sound like but you can never be someone else. You need your original you and a blend of copied professional skill plus the right skills you need in the first place.
